Best Venue to Hold a Special Occasion ~ December 2010 and December 2011
- LAKE Magazine’s Best of the Best Awards
The “Best of the Best” awards, presented by LAKE Magazine in Leesburg, Florida, highlights the best of local businesses and individuals in Lake and Sumter Counties. A list of categories is made available in issues of the magazine as well as online in August and September of the award year for readers to fill out and submit nominees to be considered as award recipients. Business categories include everything from Choice Restaurant, Spa, Wedding Venue, and Store, to Arts and Entertainment, Bicycle Trails and even Kids’ Attractions; People categories highlight Favorite Musician, Politician, Coach, and Up-and-Comer. At the end of the voting period, the number of votes determines first and second place winners in each category. The awards are then presented to the winners at LAKE Magazine’s “Best of the Best” event in December of the award year in collaboration with the unveiling of their Cover Girl winner for their Cover Girl contest. A list of the first and second place winners can be viewed by winners and readers in the January edition of LAKE Magazine.

The “Best of the WESH 2 / CW18 A-List” contest included hundreds of nominated businesses in the Orlando area. The businesses competed in categories such as arts and entertainment, beauty, cheap eats, fashion, great meals, health and fitness, night-life, shopping, specialty food and weddings. WESH and WKCF viewers nominated and voted for their favorite businesses, then submitted comments and photos. During the “Best of the WESH 2 / CW18 A-List” competition, viewers are invited to vote for their favorite businesses by texting their vote or visiting the Web site. Winners of each category were announced on WESH.com. When the “Best of the WESH 2 / CW18 A-List” competition concluded, the list was a useful resource guide promoting the top businesses in Central Florida.
